About STANT
STANT is the Science Teachers Association of the Northern
Territory.
It consists of a group of dedicated teachers from both schools
and the Department of Education, Teaching Learning and Standards.
Members of STANT consist of High School, Middle School and
Primary School teachers from government, private and independent
schools across the Northern Territory.
The objectives and purposes of STANT are:
- to provide an organisation to enable science educators (including community educators) to engage in activities likely to enhance science education including interaction between teachers of science and the community.
- to support the objectives of the Australian Science Teachers Association and associated policy documents.
- to foster an interest in the activities of the Australian Science Teachers Association among those interested in, or involved in, science teaching in the NT.
- to contribute, where possible, to the policy and decisions of all authorities in the NT which determine or affect the teaching of science in the NT.
- to involve and encourage all members, regardless of gender, to participate in all its activities.
